THE NIGHTWATCHMAN (featuring Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine/Audioslave) http://www.nightwatchmanmusic.com

Morello proves himself an authoritative storyteller and deft songwriter by abandoning his soapbox and joining the struggle of the beleaguered underdogs he champions as they cope with war, poverty, oppression and constant assaults on their dignity.

THE RUST BELT RAMBLERS

Hailing from oakwood forests and tallgrass prairies of the Midwest, The Rust Belt Ramblers are redefining the sound of American Music. From ‘Cow-Punk’ to ‘Blackgrass’, people have tried to pigeonhole this group’s whisky-drenched sound into many different genres, but when asked, they broadly refer to it as ‘Americana.’

The Rust Belt Ramblers are a gang of high energy musicians that includes Joe Tessone (banjo, ukulele), Mickey T Craft (double bass), Miss Bailey Dee (cello, fiddle, guitar vocals), Eric AntiFa (drums, percussion), and Johnny Chastain (guitar, mandolin). The ensemble is fronted by varying singer/songwriters and often includes guest appearances by some of Chicago’s greatest players. Time and time again this rowdy bunch has made crowds holler, stomp, and swing their way to the next round!

BUCKY HALKER http://www.myspace.com/buckyhalker

Folksinger, writer, rocker, scholar, labor songster, alt-country twanger. “The living heir of Woody Guthrie . . . Halker reaches into his strings and conjures up the passionate fire of John Steinbeck.” (Allgemeine Zeitung Mainz, Germany)

ABOUT THE ONE BIG UNION; The Industrial Workers of the World:

The IWW is a member-run union open to all workers dedicated to organizing on the job, in their industries, and in their communities. Also known as the Wobblies, the IWW has once again found itself on the cutting edge of the labor movement, winning demands for Starbucks Workers, bike messengers, truck drivers, construction workers, and beyond.

Founded in 1905, the IWW’s International Headquarters has, after 20 years elsewhere, returned to the city of its birth and is celebrating its first May Day back in Chicago with IWW member, Tom Morello (The Nightwatchman, Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, Street Sweeper).

The organization has a rich musical history and is excited to announce the release of the newest edition of it’s famous “Little Red Songbook,” which features Morello’s “Union Song.” This event is also the release the IWW’s first studio album featuring songs performed by rank-and-file members, including Chicago’s very own Bucky Halker and The Rust Belt Ramblers, who will be performing at this show. This event is not to be missed!

…and dreamers we were.

We made a last minute name change to the upcoming EP from the working title of “til the sun comes clean” to its official title of “…and dreamers we were.” We will only be releasing the record digitally for now and it will be available for download soon! I’ll keep you posted on the official release date!

Done mixing the new record!

We just wrapped up with mixing our new record “Til the Sun Comes Clean.” Turned out great! It will be mastered tomorrow then sent off to the pressing plant! Prepare yourself!

Mixing “Til the Sun Comes Clean” EP

We are on Day 2 of mixing the new album. Just wrapped up with “Two Rounds” and “Whisky (on the rocks)” and are on to “Empty Beer Bottles.”

Everything sounds awesome so far! We recorded the album ourselves at Mystery Street (our studio) and we are having an engineer friend of ours (Mark Michalik) come in to mix it so that we can spend some quality time with the Nintendo 64.

I’m really hoping to wrap up by Wednesday night, so that I don’t have to spend my birthday in the studio… keeping my fingers crossed!

If things go according to plan, we could have this released by early December.
